We are excited to announce that our partners from UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) successfully participated in the Eurotherm 2024 event, held in Slovenia. They presented their pioneering scientific work titled: "Calibration and verification of CFD-VOF models for the analysis of pressurization scenarios in LH2 tanks."

Key Highlights:

  • Innovative Research: The UPC team showcased their cutting-edge research, which focuses on calibrating and verifying CFD-VOF (Computational Fluid Dynamics - Volume of Fluid) models. These models are crucial for analyzing pressurization scenarios in liquid hydrogen (LH2) tanks, a key component in advancing hydrogen-powered aviation.
  • Significant Contributions: This work represents a significant step forward in the H2ELIOS project’s mission to revolutionize sustainable aviation. By improving our understanding of LH2 tank pressurization, we can enhance the safety and efficiency of hydrogen fuel systems in aircraft.
  • Engagement and Collaboration: The Eurotherm 2024 event provided an excellent platform for our partners to engage with leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals in the field of thermal science and engineering. It also fostered opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
