We are excited to announce that our partners from the H2ELIOS project will be participating in the 21st European Conference on Composite Materials (ECCM21), which will take place in Nantes, France, from July 2 to 5, 2024. This prestigious event is a key platform for sharing cutting-edge research and developments in composite materials, and we are proud to have our teams contributing to this international forum.

Featured Presentations:

UPAT Team: The University of Patras (UPAT) team will be presenting their paper titled: "Sustainability Assessment of Composite Aircraft Liquid Hydrogen Tanks Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods." This research focuses on evaluating the sustainability of composite materials used in aircraft hydrogen tanks, employing advanced decision-making methods to ensure the best environmental and performance outcomes.

NTNU Team: The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) team will be showcasing two significant pieces of research:

  • Oral Presentation: "Durability assessment of additively manufactured carbon-fiber reinforced polycarbonate exposed to cryogenic environments." This study explores the resilience of advanced composite materials under extreme conditions, crucial for the safe storage and use of liquid hydrogen in aviation.
  • Poster Presentation: "Environmental impact of multi-layered aerospace composite structures." This poster will highlight the environmental implications of using composite materials in aerospace applications, emphasizing sustainable practices in material selection and design.
