H2ELIOS continues to contribute to Europe’s aerospace research landscape. During the European Conference for AeroSpace Sciences (EUCASS), held in Rome, Italy, Ahmad Amani from UPC–CTTC presented a study closely linked to the project’s technical developments.
📌 Presentation Title:
"Insulation Optimization of Dual-Foam Insulated H₂ Cryogenic Tank"
This research explores innovative approaches to improving thermal insulation in cryogenic tanks used for hydrogen storage in aviation. Specifically, it examines the use of dual-foam insulation layers to maximize thermal efficiency while minimizing added weight — a critical balance for achieving safe and certifiable LH₂ systems.
The results presented at EUCASS contribute directly to the objectives of the H2ELIOS project, which aims to develop next-generation, lightweight hydrogen tanks for future zerO-emisSion aircraft.
